How much does the 2018 Hyundai Accent cost?

Prices have softened 8.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 273 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Hyundai Accent earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It fits you well if you want a small, affordable sedan with a starting price below $15,000, a traditional three-box design, and a value-focused setup that keeps the car simple and practical. Hyundai also paired the low price with stylish design, desirable options, and a 10-year powertrain warranty.

28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Accent’s value story is reinforced by Hyundai’s 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty, and the expert notes also point to a retuned engine aimed at better efficiency and stronger city-speed response. The car’s straightforward cabin layout and easy-to-use controls support the sense that it was built to be simple to live with.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the car has been maintained properly, since your best protection here is a clean history and evidence that the warranty-era durability story still holds up in the real world.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Hyundai Accent?

At 47.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior bodywork, uneven panel gaps, and any signs of poor repair quality. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a low-priced car can still hide expensive problems if it has been neglected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry-level SE comes with steel wheels, while the SEL adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with automatic headlights, a telescoping steering wheel, heated side mirrors, and rear disc brakes. The Limited adds a power sunroof, a proximity key with push-button start, heated seats, and automatic climate control.
• Powertrain: The Accent uses a 130-hp, 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine. Hyundai says it was retuned for better efficiency and more power at city speeds, and the front-wheel-drive setup is described as pleasant for around-town driving.
• Safety package: Automatic emergency braking is available only on the Limited. Bluetooth and a reversing camera are standard on every Accent.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only on the SEL and Limited trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert notes an EPA rating of 32 mpg, and the driving impressions mention about 29 mpg in combined city and highway driving.

Which 2018 Hyundai Accent trim should I buy?

The 2018 Hyundai Accent is offered in 3 trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the cheapest way into the Accent, but it stays very basic with steel wheels and fewer convenience features. It makes sense if your priority is the lowest possible purchase price.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim because it adds Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic headlights, a telescoping steering wheel, heated side mirrors, and rear disc brakes. If you want the most useful everyday upgrades without jumping to the top trim, this is the one to target.
• Limited: This trim adds the most comfort and convenience features, including a power sunroof, proximity key with push-button start, heated seats, and automatic climate control. It also gets the only available automatic emergency braking, so it’s the trim to consider if you want the most equipment.

The safety-package note is simple: automatic emergency braking is only available on the Limited.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Hyundai Accent?

The market looks selective but workable for you if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 273 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 47.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,100, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Hyundai Accent's resale value?

The current average of $9,130 sits slightly below last year's $9,960.

That decline suggests the Accent has become more affordable for buyers, which can make it harder for sellers to command top dollar right now. If you’re planning to sell later, the current price trend means you may need to be competitive on condition, mileage, and history to stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Hyundai Accent safe?

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Neither the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) nor the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has crash-tested the new Accent. The only available active safety feature is automatic emergency braking, and that's available only if you pay for the Limited.

That means you should pay close attention to trim level if safety tech matters to you, since the most important driver-assistance feature is not standard across the lineup.

Should I buy a 2018 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 47.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• With a starting price below $15,000, the 2018 Accent is one of the most affordable cars on the market, and Hyundai paired that low cost with stylish design, desirable options, and a 10-year powertrain warranty.

The bottom line: If you want a small, affordable sedan with a clear value proposition, the 2018 Accent is the right year to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for the best-condition example you can find and prioritize the SEL if you want the strongest mix of features and value.
