How much does the 2018 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 3.97% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,827 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for you to compare prices and trims.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Honda Accord earns a 4.72/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, advanced technology, and ample interior space. You also get recurring positive feedback on the sporty performance and the more luxurious feel in higher trims, which fits the Accord’s role as a practical midsize family sedan with a more engaging character than many rivals.

If you want a roomy, efficient, and unpretentious sedan that still feels rewarding to drive, this model year fits that use case well. The market also shows 31.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.72/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free over time, with many shoppers appreciating its long-term practicality. The expert summary reinforces that same theme by describing the Accord as reliable, roomy, efficient, and unpretentious, while also emphasizing its broad appeal as an all-new model year.

Honda also positions the Accord as a car built for everyday ownership, with a strong emphasis on smooth operation and easy livability. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Accord?

At 50.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. After that, focus on how the car drives and whether the cabin electronics, transmission behavior, and braking feel match the mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most stripped-down version, while higher trims add the upscale feel, richer materials, and more equipment that owners tend to praise. The base trim also misses some convenience and tech features that are standard or more widely available higher up the range.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbo four in lower trims and a 2.0-liter turbo four in higher trims. The 2.0-liter brings stronger performance and a 10-speed automatic, while the 1.5-liter pairs with a CVT and is tuned more for efficiency and everyday ease.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing comes standard and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views. Blind-spot monitoring is standard on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.
• Infotainment: The system is quick and easy to use, with a customizable home screen and standard HondaLink. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims except the base LX, and wireless device charging is standard on the Touring and optional on other trims.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5T with CVT is rated at 30 mpg city and 38 mpg highway, while the 2.0T automatic is rated at 23 mpg city and 34 mpg highway.

Which 2018 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and can live without some of the convenience and tech upgrades found higher up the range.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more appealing mix of equipment and can be paired with the stronger 2.0-liter engine. It also gets blind-spot monitoring when equipped with that powertrain.
• EX: This trim is a smart middle ground if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning upper trims.
• EX-L: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and more of the features that make the Accord feel premium for the class.
• Touring: This is the top choice if you want the most fully equipped Accord, including the richest tech and convenience content.

Honda Sensing comes standard across the lineup, so you’re not forced into a higher trim just to get the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,827 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,548, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $17,961 sits slightly below last year's $18,703.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the trend continues. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is choosing a well-kept example with strong equipment and a clean history, since those cars tend to stay easier to move.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.72/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Accord safe?

The 2018 Honda Accord is rated a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, scoring the highest in all five crash tests and a separate crash-avoidance test that measures the auto-braking system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing comes standard on every Accord and includes auto-braking, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning with lane-keep assist, traffic-sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control. Standard equipment also includes auto high beams, LED low-beam headlights, a driver attention monitor, and a backup camera with three views.

A lower rating for the headlights kept it from earning Top Safety Pick+ status, so that’s the main safety caveat to keep in mind. Blind-spot monitoring is standard only on the 2.0T Sport and EX trims and above.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.97% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.72/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new 2018 model brings a more engaging driving character, strong efficiency, and a well-executed cabin that owners consistently like.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest blend of value, driving enjoyment, and everyday practicality, the 2018 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years for a lower entry cost, but the 2018’s all-new redesign and strong owner feedback make it the more compelling pick for most shoppers.
