How much does the 2020 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have softened 7.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,083 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Honda Accord earns 4.35/5 from owners and 8.33/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise its comfort, stylish design, and great value, and many also highlight the 2.0T engine and advanced features. The Accord’s roomy cabin and easy-to-use technology fit the family-sedan mission well, especially if you want practicality without giving up a more engaging drive. Trade-offs include the underwhelming base engine and some concerns about acceleration and transmission behavior. With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.35/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels dependable, trouble-free, and worth counting on over the long haul, with many owners describing it as a worthwhile investment. The expert evaluation also frames it as a car that can go the distance and provide a decade or more of faithful, useful service. Honda’s standard maintenance coverage is not especially generous, so long-term ownership still depends on staying ahead of routine upkeep. For used buyers, that means condition and service history matter more than mileage alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Accord?

At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had prior bodywork or inconsistent service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of repair quality, and whether the car’s features work as expected. If you’re comparing multiple listings, a cleaner history can be worth paying for.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport and Touring trims get 19-inch wheels, while other versions use 17-inch wheels that are less flashy but cheaper to replace. The Touring trim also adds a more luxurious look and feel with soft touch points, leather, and simulated wood.
• Powertrain: Most trims use a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 192 horsepower and a CVT, while the hybrid powertrain is aimed at maximum fuel economy. The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 252 horsepower and pairs with a ten-speed automatic, with a six-speed manual also mentioned for some Sport 2.0T stock.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for the Sport 2.0T and EX trim levels or higher.
• Infotainment: The available 8-inch touchscreen includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and text-messaging support. Touring adds HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless device charging, and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid averaged 42.6 mpg in testing, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter returned 27.4 mpg on the driving loop, beating its 26 mpg combined estimate.

Which 2020 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2020 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, and Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, and it makes the Accord’s core strengths accessible without extra frills. It suits you if you want the sedan’s comfort, space, and standard safety tech at the lowest starting point.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the more appealing 19-inch wheel look and can be paired with the manual transmission mentioned in the content. It also unlocks blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert when equipped with the 2.0T setup.
• EX: This trim is a smart step up if you want more convenience and also want access to blind-spot monitoring. It sits in the sweet spot for shoppers who want more equipment without jumping all the way to the luxury-leaning trims.
• EX-L: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale cabin and the standard ten-speaker premium sound system. It’s the trim to target if comfort and interior polish matter most.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, adding HondaLink subscription services, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation, wireless device charging, and a head-up display. It’s the right choice if you want the most features and the most luxurious presentation.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are not on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but still room to move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,083 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,930, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $19,930 sits slightly below last year's $21,480.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the car is maintained and equipped. Higher-trim examples with desirable features should be easier to move later than bare-bones cars, especially if they have clean histories and strong service records. The Accord’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.35/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Honda Accord safe?

The 2020 Honda Accord is a Top Safety Pick from IIHS and earns five-star ratings in every assessment conducted by NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every trim and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not standard on every trim, which is worth noting if you want the most complete driver-assistance setup. The expert review also notes that adaptive cruise control can be a bit abrupt and that some alerts can be triggered by shadows or construction-zone markings.

Should I buy a 2020 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.35/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 Accord combines strong tech, roomy packaging, and engaging driving dynamics.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,557, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,930 average.
• Honda refined the features list and added a trim level.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year with a more refined feature set, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
