How much does the 2018 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 12.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,054 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2018 GMC Yukon XL earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction.

Owners consistently praise its spaciousness and luxurious feel, and they also like how roomy it is for vacations and daily use. That lines up well with its role as a full-size SUV built around space, comfort, and a long-wheelbase layout that adds third-row room and cargo capacity.

With 34.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive listing if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience centered on spaciousness and everyday usefulness, with the kind of comfort and utility that helps a large SUV stay appealing over time. Some owners did mention minor issues like dings and dents and a malfunctioning screen, so condition still matters on the used market.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the vehicle’s core appeal and more about how well each individual example has been maintained and preserved.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 GMC Yukon XL?

At 60% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, electronics, and interior condition, since owner feedback points to minor dings and dents as well as screen issues. Focus on the overall condition of the specific listing rather than assuming all examples will wear the same way.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Yukon XL?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,054 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,110, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $22,112 sits slightly below last year's $25,203.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively than owners did a year ago. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Strong condition and clean history will matter a lot if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a spacious, comfortable, and highly capable full-size SUV, the 2018 is a strong choice, especially if you value owner satisfaction and can find a clean example at a competitive price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained listing rather than the newest badge alone.
