CarGurus Analysis: 2018 GMC Yukon

Summary
With 133 currently listed for sale near Los Angeles, CA and an average price of $24,060, 12.0% of 2018 GMC Yukons for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 GMC Yukon 4.29 / 5 stars.
69.9% of 2018 Yukon models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that emphasizes space, comfort, and a premium feel without becoming overly flashy. It is described as roomy and well-appointed, with restrained styling inside and out, and the buying guide notes that the Yukon has long been known for premium amenities, plush materials, and modern technology. For shoppers who want a large family hauler with an imposing presence and a more understated luxury look, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
For 2018 specifically, the Yukon sits in the fourth generation, which brought a standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen, multiple USB-A ports, a standard Bose sound system, and fold-flat second- and third-row seats. It also benefited from added sound-deadening materials and laminated glass for the windshield and front windows to help reduce cabin noise. The guide also points to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as available by 2018, along with more safety tech than earlier years in the generation, including a teen-driver management system, automatic emergency braking, and a rear-seat reminder.
There are tradeoffs, though. The buying guide says the Yukon has poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, the 2018 model is singled out as a used buy with increasing reliability and owner satisfaction, and owners in the review summary commonly praise its comfort, spaciousness, and luxurious feel.

Great vehicle. Tons of room for my family. Very little options because it’s a base model. But felt safer being a little higher up more like a truck.

The 2018 GMC Denali is an amazing Luxury SUV. It is elegant, roomy and entertaining for the family when going on long trips. It has plenty of power with the 6.2liter V-8 and the 10 speed automatic transmission saves gas. Whether your towing a boat or taking a family trip this SUV will make sure you get there with. Your loved ones and in style! I am happy with this vehicle and I am sure anyone that purchases one will be happy to.

Traded in our Buick Enclave for a 2018 Yukon. Car is very nice and solid. As a bad back kind of guy, I needed something extremely comfortable. The 2018 GMC Yukon filled the bill. Gas mileage is 22.4 a great increase from the Buicks 14. Has enough bells and whistles to satisfy my needs.

Is the 2018 GMC Yukon a good car?
Generally — the 4.29/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its comfort, spaciousness, and luxurious feel, and the overview frames it as a roomy, well-appointed full-size SUV with an understated premium look. If you want a large family hauler with a comfortable cabin and a more restrained style, that combination is a major part of its appeal. With 34.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable in day-to-day use, with comfort and spaciousness showing up as recurring strengths. That said, some drivers mention condition-related concerns in specific cases, so a used example can vary a lot from one listing to the next. For you, that means reliability is best judged by the individual vehicle’s maintenance history and current condition rather than the badge alone.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 GMC Yukon?
At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing photos or description suggest wear, repairs, or inconsistent condition. Focus on overall condition, because the market includes enough mixed-history inventory that the best buy is often the cleanest, best-documented example rather than simply the cheapest one.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Yukon?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.
- Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,746 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 64.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,047, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2018 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $25,061 sits slightly below last year's $28,213.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the key question is whether the vehicle you choose can hold up better than the average listing, because condition and documentation will matter more when the market is already softer. If you buy carefully now, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation later.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the primary year to target because pricing has eased and the model still earns strong feedback from owners. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can widen your search to nearby years, but the 2018 gives you a compelling mix of market softness, inventory, and buyer appeal.
