CarGurus Analysis: 2018 GMC Yukon

Summary
With 135 currently listed for sale near Los Angeles, CA and an average price of $23,335.00, 13.3% of 2018 GMC Yukons for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 GMC Yukon 4.29 / 5 stars.
71.1% of 2018 Yukon models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 GMC Yukon stands out as a full-size SUV that blends roominess, comfort, and a premium feel with a relatively understated design. It is described as roomy and well-appointed, with premium amenities, plush materials, and modern technology, while still keeping its styling restrained inside and out. For buyers who want a large family hauler that feels substantial without being flashy, that combination is a major part of its appeal.
For this model year, the Yukon also benefits from the fourth generation’s broader move toward more modern convenience and safety features. The guide notes that the 2018 model year was considered a mid-life refresh, with LED daytime running lights for all trims and a redesigned grille and 10-speed automatic transmission on the Denali. It also sits in a generation that added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with more safety technology over time. At the same time, the Yukon’s drawbacks remain familiar: poor fuel economy, uncomfortable seats, and interior materials that can feel cheap. Even so, the 2018 model is presented as a solid used buy, with improving reliability and owner satisfaction and pricing that makes it accessible relative to newer full-size SUVs.

Great vehicle. Tons of room for my family. Very little options because it’s a base model. But felt safer being a little higher up more like a truck.

The 2018 GMC Denali is an amazing Luxury SUV. It is elegant, roomy and entertaining for the family when going on long trips. It has plenty of power with the 6.2liter V-8 and the 10 speed automatic transmission saves gas. Whether your towing a boat or taking a family trip this SUV will make sure you get there with. Your loved ones and in style! I am happy with this vehicle and I am sure anyone that purchases one will be happy to.

Traded in our Buick Enclave for a 2018 Yukon. Car is very nice and solid. As a bad back kind of guy, I needed something extremely comfortable. The 2018 GMC Yukon filled the bill. Gas mileage is 22.4 a great increase from the Buicks 14. Has enough bells and whistles to satisfy my needs.

Is the 2018 GMC Yukon a good car?
Generally — the 4.29/5 user rating points to a model that many owners feel good about living with. The review summary highlights comfort, spaciousness, and a luxurious feel, along with a noticeable improvement in gas mileage compared with previous models. For you, that makes the Yukon a strong fit if you want a large family hauler with a roomy cabin and a more premium feel, especially if understated styling matters more than flash. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2018 GMC Yukon reliable?
Owners rate it 4.29/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The review summary points to a vehicle that many owners find comfortable and dependable enough for everyday use, with a reputation that supports confidence over time. That said, some drivers noted condition-related concerns in specific cases, so you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall wear. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example rather than the model itself.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 GMC Yukon?
At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 GMC Yukon?

- Inventory: There are 1,717 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.

What is the 2018 GMC Yukon's resale value?
The current average of $25,083 sits slightly below last year's $28,212.
That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your resale outcome will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and mileage. A clean history and strong maintenance record should matter more when it comes time to attract future buyers.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.29/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.29/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a roomy, well-equipped full-size SUV with a premium feel and you value current pricing softness, the 2018 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can widen your search to nearby years and compare condition, accident history, and deal quality to find the best value.
