Used 2018 Ford Fusion for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2018 Ford Fusion cost?

Prices have softened 6.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,768 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion a good car?

Yes — 5/5. It earns an 8.5/10 expert rating, and the model scores 9/10 across Performance, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

The 2018 Fusion stands out because it gives you an unusually wide range of personalities in one lineup, from a basic family sedan to hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions, plus a luxurious trim and a genuine sports sedan. That breadth makes it especially appealing if you want a midsize sedan that can fit different priorities without leaving the segment.

Good and great deals account for 30.5% of listings, which suggests you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Fusion’s appeal is reinforced by its broad lineup and the fact that it remains a well-rounded midsize sedan rather than a one-note commuter car. The expert review also points to strong driving dynamics and a cabin that is more satisfying to live with than Ford’s older tech-heavy setups.

The performance side is especially encouraging because the car is described as fast, fun to drive, and capable of handling hard use without losing composure. On the ownership side, the main long-term risk for used buyers is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well, since higher-output versions can be more demanding and pricier to fuel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Fusion?

At 60.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on how the car drives, since the Fusion lineup spans everything from efficient family versions to a high-performance model with more complex hardware.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup ranges from the basic S to the SE, Titanium, Platinum, and Sport, with hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions also available. The base trim is the most stripped-down, while higher trims add upscale materials, more comfort features, and more technology.
• Powertrain: You can find a standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder, turbocharged 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter 4-cylinders, and a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 in the Sport. Hybrid versions are rated at 42 mpg in combined driving, and plug-in hybrid versions deliver 97 MPGe with about 20 miles of electric range.
• Safety package: Ford offers a broad set of safety, driver-assistance, and collision-avoidance features, plus optional inflatable rear seat belts. The review also notes that some equipment is optional rather than standard, so trim level matters.
• Infotainment: Sync 3 is the key system to look for, and it supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Sync Connect with FordPass, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Siri Eyes Free, audible text messaging, and 911 Assist. It can also be paired with a Sony premium sound system and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid versions are rated at 42 mpg combined, the plug-in hybrid versions deliver 97 MPGe, and the Sport test car returned 20.6 mpg on a test loop while requiring 93-octane fuel.

Which 2018 Ford Fusion trim should I buy?

The 2018 Ford Fusion is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SE, Titanium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Fusion lineup and care more about the car’s style and overall balance than extra features.
• SE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the sweet spot between price and equipment, and the review specifically points out that an SE with the optional turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and AWD can be a rewarding all-weather daily driver.
• Titanium: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top of the range; it adds a more premium flavor and is a good fit if comfort and refinement matter more than bargain pricing.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice if you want the most upscale Fusion experience short of the Sport, and it suits you best if you want a loaded sedan with a more premium presentation.

The safety package includes optional inflatable rear seat belts, and the review notes that some driver-assistance and collision-avoidance technologies are available rather than standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Fusion?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,768 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,631, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Fusion's resale value?

The current average of $11,706 sits slightly below last year's $12,554.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car more attractive to used buyers but less favorable for sellers trying to maximize return. If you own one, pricing it competitively will matter more than waiting for a rebound.

The Fusion’s broad appeal helps support demand, especially because it offers multiple personalities in one lineup rather than a single narrow use case. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Ford Fusion safe?

The 2018 Fusion performs beautifully in IIHS assessments, but the federal government gives it a three-star crash protection rating for the front passenger, while other NHTSA tests earn top marks.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford offers a broad set of safety, driver-assistance, and collision-avoidance features, and optional inflatable rear seat belts are a notable extra. The review also highlights that the Fusion needs better headlights and more easily accessible child safety seat anchors, so those are worth checking closely if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Fusion or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 stands out for its unusually broad lineup, ranging from a basic sedan to hybrid, plug-in hybrid, luxury, and performance versions.

The bottom line: If you want the broadest mix of trims, powertrains, and personalities in a midsize sedan, the 2018 Fusion is a strong used-car target. If you’re mainly shopping on price, you may also want to compare nearby model years, but the 2018 remains especially appealing when you want variety and value in the same package.
