Is the 2018 Dodge Challenger a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Dodge Challenger earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, style, and comfort, and they also like the powerful engine choices and roomy interior. That makes it a strong fit if you want a five-passenger coupe with a user-friendly infotainment setup and a broad range of trims and powertrains to match different priorities. With 26.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Dodge Challenger reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes dependable performance, comfort, and a car that many drivers feel good about living with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that condition can vary widely by trim and how hard the car was driven, so maintenance history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Dodge Challenger?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who can check for prior bodywork, uneven tire wear, and signs of hard use. Focus on overall condition, because a performance coupe like this can vary a lot depending on how carefully it was maintained and driven.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Dodge Challenger?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $22,574, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Dodge Challenger's resale value?

The current average of $23,038 sits slightly below last year's $23,916.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also suggests future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays loose. If you keep mileage, condition, and maintenance records in good shape, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell. Strong owner satisfaction can also help support demand when you eventually list the car.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Dodge Challenger or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $20,543, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $23,038 average.
• It leans hardest into retro muscle-car style with a distinctly old-school personality.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2018 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a softer price trend and decent deal availability. If your main goal is to spend less up front, the 2017 is the better secondary path.
