Generally — the 4.33/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Drivers consistently praise its roominess, style, and solid performance, and many also like the value it offers along with the special-edition features. Is the 2018 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car that many owners find dependable and easy to live with, especially when it comes to everyday comfort and ownership experience. That kind of satisfaction matters if you want a used sedan you can count on for regular commuting and family duty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history should carry real weight in your decision.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

At 52% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and pay close attention to any prior collision records, title issues, or repeated repairs. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important here, since condition can vary a lot from one used example to another. Focus on signs of wear, repair quality, and how well the car’s interior and electronics have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 687 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.34% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,621, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $12,820 sits slightly below last year's $13,263.

That softer pricing suggests the model is still accessible on the used market, but it also means future sellers may not see strong appreciation from current levels. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you can help protect value, but the recent trend points to a market that is more stable than rising. Strong demand for roomy, comfortable sedans can still support resale, especially if your car has clean history and solid maintenance.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a good choice if you want a roomy, comfortable full-size sedan and you can find one with clean history and strong maintenance records. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone. For most shoppers, the 2018 is the better path when you value comfort, space, and a favorable current price; a different year may be worth considering if you’re chasing the lowest possible purchase price.
