Is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado earns a 4.54/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, decent gas mileage, good power, towing ability, compact size, and easy-to-drive feel compared with full-size trucks. With 33.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

Owners rate it 4.54/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that many people find dependable in daily use, with praise for its trouble-free feel, smooth ride, and ability to handle work and commuting without much fuss. At the same time, some drivers mention mechanical concerns, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important on a used example. For long-term ownership, the biggest risk is buying one that has been poorly maintained or already showing signs of the model’s known problem areas.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Colorado?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to transmission behavior, HVAC operation, and engine performance. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because those details matter more when you’re shopping a used truck with a mixed history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,304 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.01% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,414, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $20,445 sits slightly below last year's $22,226.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays under pressure. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, because buyers tend to pay more for trucks that look well cared for and have clean histories. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the recent price decline suggests you should not expect rapid appreciation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.54/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.54/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $21,647, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,445 average.
• It leans into a simpler, more straightforward setup with added off-road and diesel appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and prefer its simpler, more focused character, the 2019 is the secondary path to consider.
