CarGurus Analysis: 2018 Audi Q7

Summary
With 1,583 currently listed for sale and an average price of $16,450.00, 33.5% of 2018 Audi Q7s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 Audi Q7 4.9 / 5 stars.
71.4% of 2018 Q7 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends strong road manners with a clean, understated design. Audi’s second-generation Q7 was redesigned for 2017, and by 2018 it offered a choice between a turbocharged 252-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a turbocharged 333-hp 3.0-liter V6. The V6 is the more compelling engine, especially because it also unlocks 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. The Q7’s appeal is broader than its powertrains, though: it has a cleaner, more angular look than the original, with matrix-design LED headlights, signature daytime running lights, and a power-folding panoramic sunroof.
Inside, the 2018 Q7 emphasizes comfort and practicality without abandoning Audi’s tech-forward personality. Every Q7 has three rows of seats, and the front and second rows are described as comfortable and spacious. The third row is smaller and best reserved for children, but the SUV still offers useful cargo room, with 14.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 37.5 cubic feet with it folded, and 69.6 cubic feet at maximum. Technology was a major strength for this generation, too, with Audi Virtual Cockpit, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto available, along with advanced driver-assistance features that helped the Q7 feel more modern than many rivals.
There are tradeoffs, and they matter for shoppers. The base turbo four was meant to make the Q7 more affordable, but it didn’t provide enough power and had to work hard, which hurt fuel economy. The cabin could also feel somewhat cold and technical, even if certain upholstery, lighting, and trim combinations helped warm it up. Still, for buyers who want a refined family SUV with good driving dynamics, a premium interior, and a strong mix of utility and technology, the 2018 Audi Q7 remains distinctive.

As a former Porsche Cayenne S owner, having a fully loaded vehicle is important to me. The Audi Q7 checks all of the boxes for the 2018 model! Great technology, comfort, and performance all wrapped up into this model year. True 7 passenger seating to boot. Great way to avoid steep depreciation on this vehicle investigating a three year old spec. Compare to the BMW X5 and you wont be disappointed!

So far, it’s an excellent vehicle with loads to offer a family. I think if we had to have just one vehicle it would be this or the sq7, if I had to give up my fun vehicle. Beautiful design inside and out, buttery smooth transition. Audi quality. Advanced tech and safety features. Traded in our Audi S3 for this since our family is growing.

Yes — the 2018 Audi Q7 earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.
Owners consistently praise its mix of luxury, space, and performance, and many also like the roomy interior and advanced technology. That makes it a strong fit if you want a three-row SUV that feels upscale and works well for families. The Q7’s use case is especially compelling if you value a refined daily driver with premium features and practical seating.
With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find attractive pricing.
Is the 2018 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and comfortable to live with, especially for buyers who want a premium SUV they can count on over time. The combination of luxury, space, and performance shows up repeatedly in owner impressions, which supports confidence in everyday ownership.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the ownership experience and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi Q7?
At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the body, suspension, electronics, and interior condition. Because this is a luxury SUV, you’ll want to focus on how well the vehicle has been maintained, not just how it looks in photos.

What is the 2018 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $16,489 sits slightly below last year's $18,821.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average ones because shoppers in this segment tend to reward clean presentation and strong ownership history.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.39% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2017 if:
- At $14,466, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $16,489 average.
- It brings a redesigned, lighter package with more space and updated technology.
The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the better value play and may be worth a closer look.
