How much does the 2018 Audi Q5 cost?

There are 1,794 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Audi Q5 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the smooth, comfortable ride, luxurious interior, and strong safety features. They also like the spacious cabin and cargo area, along with the design and technology. In practical terms, that lines up well with the Q5’s role as a well-rounded luxury SUV that aims to feel polished, roomy, and sophisticated rather than flashy.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 38.1% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable and comfortable to live with over time, especially when you value a smooth ride, strong safety features, and a well-finished cabin. The expert evaluation also describes the Q5 as an improved SUV with greater sophistication and broad competence, which supports the idea that it is built to be a solid long-term companion.

Audi’s standard safety tech adds another layer of confidence, with Audi Pre-Sense included on all models. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium SUV can become expensive if prior maintenance was skipped or if you run into the kinds of ergonomic or braking complaints some owners mention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi Q5?

At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on bodywork quality, signs of prior collision repair, and whether the cabin and braking feel consistent with the mileage and asking price. Because this model is a premium SUV, condition matters a lot more than a small price difference.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard Q5 lineup includes Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige, and the base version is the one most likely to leave out some of the higher-end convenience and tech features. Prestige models add the most equipment, while Premium Plus sits in the middle with a stronger mix of features for the money.
• Powertrain: The Q5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 252 horsepower and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, paired with Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned for strong everyday performance and efficiency-minded operation.
• Safety package: Audi Pre-Sense is standard and includes forward-collision detection and automatic emergency braking. The Driver Assistance Package is exclusive to Prestige models and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high beams, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The latest Multi-Media Interface All-in-Touch system is standard on Prestige and optional on other versions, and Audi Virtual Cockpit is standard on Prestige and optional on Premium Plus.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive data cites 25 mpg in combined driving conditions.

Which 2018 Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2018 Audi Q5 is offered in 4 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige, and SQ5.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q5 experience with standard AWD, leather seats, real wood trim, three-zone climate control, and Audi Pre-Sense. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Q5, but you give up some of the richer tech and convenience features found higher up.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a stronger mix of desirable equipment without jumping all the way to Prestige. It can bring features like blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, Vehicle Exit Assist, Bang & Olufsen audio, and Audi Virtual Cockpit, depending on configuration.
• Prestige: This is the most feature-rich standard Q5 trim, and it’s the one to choose if you want the full tech and safety experience. It gets the standard MMI Touch system, Audi Virtual Cockpit, a head-up display, and the Driver Assistance Package with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• SQ5: This is the performance-oriented variant, so it’s for you if you want the sportier side of the Q5 family rather than the standard luxury focus.

Audi Pre-Sense is standard on all Q5 models, while the Driver Assistance Package is exclusive to Prestige.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi Q5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,794 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,330, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $15,330 sits slightly below last year's $17,054.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing momentum has softened, so condition, mileage, and equipment will matter even more when you go to list it. A well-kept example with strong service history should still stand out, but you should not expect the same pricing environment that existed a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 safe?

The 2018 Audi Q5 earns top marks for moderate overlap frontal impact and side impact protection from IIHS, but a Marginal rating for the headlight performance of certain versions of the vehicle.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi Pre-Sense is standard on all Q5 models and includes forward-collision detection and automatic emergency braking. The Driver Assistance Package, exclusive to Prestige models, adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and Traffic Jam Assist. The main caveat to keep in mind is the headlight result on certain versions, so you should pay close attention to the exact equipment on any used listing you consider.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• This year stands out for its complete redesign, improved performance and driving dynamics, more interior room, and greater overall sophistication.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned Q5 with strong tech, a polished cabin, and broad all-around competence, the 2018 model is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest entry price, you can shop more selectively and focus on the best-maintained examples rather than chasing a newer badge.

How does the 2018 Audi Q5 compare to the 2018 BMW X3?

Our experts score the 2018 Audi Q5 7.8/10 and the 2018 BMW X3 7.7/10.

The Q5 looks like the better value on paper because it has the lower average used price and a slightly stronger deal share. It also brings stronger expert safety and technology scores, plus standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto across the lineup. The X3 counters with a slightly higher accident-free share and stronger highway MPG, so it may appeal more if efficiency and cleaner inventory matter most to you.
