Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. That fits a truck aimed at buyers who want a straightforward, work-ready pickup with a strong reputation for holding up over time. With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliability, and owners also describe it as dependable and worth the price for what it offers. That kind of praise matters if you want a truck you can count on for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is that wear and tear can still show up, so condition and maintenance history should carry real weight.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota Tundra?

At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was minor or structural. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that may have seen heavy use or higher mileage. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear, and how well the truck has been maintained rather than relying on appearance alone.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,534 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.23% compared with last year.

What is the 2017 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $28,343 sits slightly below last year's $28,990.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now. For a future seller, the current softness means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance history than on broad market momentum. Trucks with cleaner histories and stronger presentation should still stand out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $25,072, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $28,343 average.
• It adds an upgraded Entune system and practical equipment updates.

The bottom line:
You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value-focused alternative.
