CarGurus Analysis: 2017 Toyota RAV4

Summary
With 2,694 currently listed for sale and an average price of $17,760.00, 30.5% of 2017 Toyota RAV4s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 Toyota RAV4 4.48 / 5 stars.
52.6% of 2017 RAV4 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 Toyota RAV4 stands out as a practical, well-equipped compact SUV that leans more toward usefulness than excitement. By this generation, Toyota had broadened the RAV4 lineup with gas, hybrid, Adventure, and TRD Off-Road versions, and the model had become more than just a basic pavement-focused crossover. It also came with a long list of desirable standard features, including keyless entry, Toyota Safety Sense, LED daytime running lights, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, which helped give even the entry-level version a strong value proposition.
What makes the 2017 model especially appealing is the balance it strikes between everyday usability and available capability. The RAV4 Hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor for 219 horsepower, standard all-wheel drive, and up to 40 mpg combined, making it the most efficient and refined choice in the lineup. Buyers who wanted more rugged styling and a bit more trail readiness could look to the Adventure and TRD Off-Road versions, while the broader trim range meant higher-end models could add more comfort and convenience features. The tradeoff is that the RAV4 still isn’t especially exciting to drive, and its interior remains fairly plain, noisy, and basic compared with some rivals.

We got the LE trim. Not too many fancy features that I dont care about like a sunroof. The automatic transmission has 4 low manual gears available for driving over mountains, etc. Highway mileage up to 29 mpg. Practical and reliable.

This is the second Rav4Limited I have bought. I bought one in 2016 for my daughter. When it was my turn for a new vehicle I bought one for myself. I love all the safety features, the smooth ride. The only thing I do not like is how hard the seats are.

Smoother and quieter than my older model. Better acceleration and gas mileage too. So far, so good. Bought with only 36k, driven about 200 miles since purchase, so time will tell.
