How much does the 2017 Subaru BRZ cost?

Prices have softened 3.64% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 102 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Subaru BRZ a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2017 Subaru BRZ stands out as a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe that prioritizes balance and driver involvement over outright speed, and it was refreshed for 2017 with a bit more power, revised gearing, and sharper styling. It also offers a manual transmission for enthusiasts and enough everyday equipment to keep it usable as a daily driver. With 25.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Subaru BRZ reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2017 BRZ’s appeal comes from its focused chassis, simple sports-car formula, and emphasis on balance rather than complexity. For used buyers, that usually means you should pay close attention to how the car was driven and maintained, since a performance-oriented coupe can show wear differently depending on its history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Subaru BRZ?

At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was cosmetic or structural. Put inspection priority on the suspension, tires, brakes, and alignment, since this car’s handling-focused setup makes condition especially important. You should also pay close attention to signs of hard use, because a sports coupe like this can vary a lot from one example to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru BRZ?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and move quickly when you find a strong example.

• Deal availability: 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 102 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,832, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru BRZ's resale value?

The current average of $19,219 sits slightly below last year's $19,946.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable level today, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the car is kept. A clean history, strong maintenance records, and careful ownership should matter more than mileage alone for a model like this. Because the BRZ is a niche sports coupe, the best-kept examples are likely to hold buyer interest better than rougher ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru BRZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want the BRZ’s core formula with a refreshed look and slightly stronger performance, the 2017 is the right year to target. It makes the most sense if you value balance, manual-transmission driving, and a focused sports-car feel over practicality. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also use the softer market to compare this year carefully against nearby model years and prioritize the cleanest, best-maintained example you can find.
