How much does the 2017 Nissan Sentra cost?

There are 952 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliability, efficiency, and great gas mileage, and many also like its smooth driving experience and attractive styling. That makes it a sensible fit if you want a straightforward commuter car that is easy to live with and economical to run. With 27.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes this Sentra as reliable, efficient, and trouble-free for everyday use, with many drivers saying they can count on it for commuting and routine driving. The main caution in the feedback is concern about the CVT transmission, so used buyers should pay close attention to service history and how the car drives under load. For long-term ownership, that means your risk is less about the model’s basic usefulness and more about finding one that has been maintained carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since accident history can affect both condition and resale value. Prioritize a thorough test drive and inspection, with extra attention to transmission behavior, shifting smoothness, and any signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records so you can separate the cleaner examples from the ones that may need more work.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 952 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $8,855, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $8,855 sits slightly below last year's $9,543.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you own one, keeping it in strong condition matters because buyers tend to respond better to clean, well-documented examples when a model is already trading below its prior-year level. A lower entry price can help you today, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on condition and maintenance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $8,059, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $8,855 average.
• It brings refreshed styling and updated infotainment features.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value play, especially if its refreshed look and added tech matter to you.
