How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive power, comfort, and engineering quality, and they also highlight its smooth performance and stylish design. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a large three-row luxury SUV with a premium feel and family-friendly practicality. With 37.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for its engineering quality and the kind of comfort and performance you can count on over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a luxury SUV can become expensive if prior maintenance was inconsistent, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of uneven wear, repair quality, or deferred maintenance. Because this is a large luxury SUV, you should focus on overall condition and how well the vehicle has been maintained rather than just the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what to look for.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 693 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,678, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $17,678 sits slightly below last year's $19,472.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can limit upside if you plan to sell in the near term. On the other hand, a lower entry price can help you buy in at a more favorable point, especially if you choose a well-kept example. If you maintain the vehicle carefully and keep service records, you can help protect its future appeal to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better fit if you want a lower entry price and are willing to be selective about condition and history. If you want a newer alternative and can spend more, a later model year may be worth considering; if your priority is value, the 2017 stands out as the more budget-friendly path.
