How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,242 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, excellent handling, comfortable ride, and stylish design, with the sound system also drawing positive attention. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a used luxury sedan that feels upscale and well equipped rather than basic transportation. With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centered on the car’s long-term appeal, refined feel, and overall build quality. At the same time, some owners mention maintenance costs, so your long-term ownership risk is less about day-to-day dependability and more about keeping repair and upkeep expenses in check.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and repeated repairs before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus closely on overall condition, since maintenance costs can matter more on a used luxury sedan than on a mainstream model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right listing appears, but it still pays to be selective.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,504, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $17,526 sits slightly below last year's $18,786.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, the key question is whether the car holds its appeal well enough to slow depreciation from here. Strong condition, clean history, and desirable equipment should matter a lot when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,660, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,526 average.
• It adds a more polished, premium-feeling ownership experience with stronger luxury appeal.

The 2017 is the better value if you want a modern, well-liked luxury sedan at a lower price. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling premium experience, the 2018 is the cleaner upgrade path.
