How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 7.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,243 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — 4.78/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the model’s appeal as a luxury mid-size car. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, excellent handling, comfortable ride, and stylish design. If you want a premium used car that emphasizes comfort, technology, and prestige, this model year fits that brief well. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels luxurious, comfortable, and enjoyable to live with, while also noting maintenance costs as a downside. That combination suggests the ownership experience can be rewarding, but you should budget carefully for upkeep if you plan to keep it long term.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on bodywork, panel alignment, electronics, and signs of deferred maintenance. Because this is a premium used car, condition matters a lot, so focus on service records and overall wear before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,587, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $17,587 sits slightly below last year's $19,032.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you preserve the car. A clean history, strong maintenance records, and above-average condition should matter more than usual when you eventually sell. Premium cars can hold buyer interest when they feel well cared for, but neglected examples tend to lose appeal quickly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,857, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,587 average.
• It delivers a more polished, highly rewarding luxury experience.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better starting point if you want a more affordable entry into the E-Class experience and are willing to shop carefully for condition. If your budget stretches higher and you want the more expensive, more refined-feeling alternative, the 2018 is the stronger premium pick.
