How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 6.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,228 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, strong performance, and excellent handling, and many also like the comfortable ride and stylish design. In practical terms, that lines up well if you want a luxury mid-size car that emphasizes comfort, technology, and prestige. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a dependable ownership experience in the sense that many drivers value its comfort, performance, and overall quality over time. At the same time, some owners mention maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is less about basic satisfaction and more about keeping repair and upkeep expenses in check.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified mechanic. Focus especially on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, and any evidence of deferred maintenance, since condition and repair history matter a lot on a luxury car like this.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,228 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.85% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,507, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $17,591 sits slightly below last year's $18,885.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless the market tightens. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, because well-kept examples should stand out more clearly in a market where prices have already eased.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,794, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,591 average.
• It emphasizes a more polished luxury experience with especially strong refinement.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2017 if you want the better value and are willing to shop carefully for condition. If your budget stretches and you want a more premium-feeling alternative, the 2018 is the stronger upscale pick, but price-sensitive buyers will likely find the 2017 easier to justify.
