How much does the 2017 Lincoln MKZ cost?

Prices have softened 2.60% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 439 listings available, which suggests a modest but workable amount of inventory for shoppers.

Is the 2017 Lincoln MKZ a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Lincoln MKZ earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its luxury, comfort, smooth ride, powerful performance, and abundance of features for the price. That lines up with the overview: you’re looking at a redesigned entry-level luxury sedan that aims to deliver more power and more standard equipment than many rivals. The market also shows 31.9% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for value-minded luxury shoppers.

Is the 2017 Lincoln MKZ reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for comfort, smoothness, and value over time. The expert write-up also emphasizes a solid chassis and suspension, plus a powertrain lineup that includes a smooth turbocharged four-cylinder and a stronger V6 option. The cost-effectiveness notes add that Lincoln’s rebates and financing incentives can make ownership easier to justify.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about making sure the car was maintained well and equipped the way you want, since some desirable features were packaged separately.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Lincoln MKZ?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with optional driver-assistance equipment. Focus on condition, feature content, and whether the car has the equipment you actually want, since some of the most useful safety and convenience features were not standard on every version.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Premiere trim gets front-wheel drive, an adaptive suspension, adaptive xenon headlights with LED tail lights, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, heated mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and the Sync 3 infotainment system on an 8-inch touchscreen. The Select adds leather upholstery, power steering-wheel adjustment, 4-way power lumbar adjustment, ambient lighting, power-folding mirrors, rear USB ports, and a 110-volt outlet. The Reserve adds the Select Plus Package content, a power trunk, 19-inch alloys, and front-seat ventilation. The Black Label sits above those trims with upgraded leather and wood trim.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic and is described as smooth and fun to drive. The available bi-turbo 3.0-liter V6 brings much stronger output and makes the car one of the quickest in the segment, while the hybrid setup pairs a 2.0-liter engine with an electric motor and a CVT for better efficiency.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is part of the Select Plus Package, while the Technology Package adds adaptive cruise control, pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, auto-park, front sensors, and rain-sensing wipers with de-ice capability. Some of the most useful driver-assistance features are not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: Sync 3 uses an 8-inch touchscreen and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is described as fast and intuitive, and it replaces the older setup with a more user-friendly interface.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-liter FWD model is rated at 24 mpg combined, with 21 city and 31 highway. AWD drops to 23 mpg combined, with 21 city and 28 highway. The 3.0-liter V6 is rated at 21 mpg combined in FWD form and 20 mpg combined with AWD. The hybrid returns 40 mpg combined, with 41 city and 38 highway.

Which 2017 Lincoln MKZ trim should I buy?

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ is offered in 4 trim levels: Premiere, Select, Reserve, Black Label.

Here's the short version:

• Premiere: This is the entry point, but it still brings a strong equipment list, including the adaptive suspension and Sync 3 on an 8-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable skipping some of the nicer cabin upgrades and driver-assistance features.
• Select: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather upholstery, more seat adjustment, ambient lighting, and useful convenience upgrades. If you want a more luxury-focused MKZ without jumping too far up the price ladder, this is the one to target.
• Reserve: This trim adds the Select Plus Package content, a power trunk, 19-inch alloys, and front-seat ventilation. It’s the right pick if you want a more fully equipped MKZ and are willing to pay for the extra comfort and convenience.
• Black Label: This top trim adds upgraded leather and wood trim and sits at the top of the lineup. It makes the most sense if you want the most upscale presentation and are shopping for the most premium version available.

The safety-package content makes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert especially worth seeking out, and the Technology Package adds several of the most desirable driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Lincoln MKZ?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 439 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,797, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Lincoln MKZ's resale value?

The current average of $13,450 sits slightly below last year's $13,809.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current trend implies you should expect value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still hold up better than stripped or accident-history cars.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Lincoln MKZ safe?

The 2017 Lincoln MKZ earns a five-star overall safety rating from both the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, though both organizations gave it second-best scores in their total front-impact protection and small-overlap frontal-offset test, respectively.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The MKZ can be fitted with inflatable rear seatbelts for added protection, and it includes MyKey, which lets you monitor and limit usage for a second driver. The available driver-assistance content also includes blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, auto-park, front sensors, and rain-sensing wipers with de-ice capability. The main caveat is that some of those features are packaged rather than standard, so you’ll want to verify equipment carefully on any used listing.

Should I buy a 2017 Lincoln MKZ or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 stands out for its redesign, stronger available power, and upgraded Sync 3 infotainment, which make it a more compelling luxury-sedan value play.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, comfort, and equipment, the 2017 is the year to focus on. If you’re especially price-sensitive, shop carefully for a well-kept example with the features you want, because the market still rewards condition and equipment more than age alone.
