Used 2017 Lexus RX for Sale near Louisiana

How much does the 2017 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 3.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,361 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Lexus RX earns a 4.6/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxury features, comfort, and value for money, and they also highlight the smooth ride and technological advancements. In practical terms, that lines up with a luxury crossover that feels polished and relaxed rather than sporty.

The trade-offs are that the technology can be unintuitive and the interior materials could be better for the class. It fits you best if you want a refined daily driver with a premium feel, not a sharper-handling SUV.

There are 36.6% good or great deals in the market, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels reliable, dependable, and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence over time. The expert notes also reinforce that impression by emphasizing Lexus’ reliability reputation and the RX’s strong value proposition.

That said, used buyers should still watch for signs of wear in higher-mileage examples and verify that the vehicle has been maintained consistently, since long-term ownership risk always rises when service history is unclear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Lexus RX?

At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and any signs of prior repair. It also makes sense to focus on interior condition and technology operation, since the RX’s infotainment setup can be a pain point for some owners.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The F Sport package adds adaptive suspension, sport seats, 20-inch wheels, a unique gauge cluster, a sport steering wheel, and a sport shifter, while the base form is more ordinary and less distinctive.
• Powertrain: The RX uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 295 hp and an 8-speed automatic; it’s tuned more for ride quality than straight-line speed.
• Safety package: The standard suite includes dynamic cruise, auto high beams, lane-departure warning and assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard.
• Infotainment: The available 12.3-inch display is paired with the remote-touch interface, and the system is not touchscreen-based.
• Fuel efficiency: EPA estimates are 20 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined.

Which 2017 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2017 Lexus RX is offered in 1 trim level: RX 350.

Here's the short version:

The RX 350 is the one to focus on if you want the core RX experience: a comfortable ride, premium materials, and strong value. The F Sport package meaningfully changes the character of the vehicle with adaptive suspension and sport-focused hardware, so it’s the best-value path if you want the most engaging version of this model year.

The standard safety package is a meaningful plus, but blind-spot monitoring still isn’t standard, so check the equipment list carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options but not so much that every listing is a bargain.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,361 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,229, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $23,466 sits slightly below last year's $24,244.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests the RX has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation. For a future seller, that means resale value may remain steadier than average if the vehicle is kept in clean condition and backed by good maintenance records.

The RX’s broad appeal, comfort-first mission, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand when it’s time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Lexus RX safe?

The 2017 Lexus RX earns an overall five-star safety rating from NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick+ nod from IIHS. It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes dynamic cruise, auto high beams, lane-departure warning and assist, and a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard, and the IIHS noted an Acceptable result for headlights.

Should I buy a 2017 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2017 adds broader F Sport availability and standard Safety System + equipment.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $21,965, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $23,466 average.
• It emphasizes comfort and value with a strong reputation for safety.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $26,053, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $23,466 average.
• It adds a third row for buyers who want extra seating.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around choice if you want the RX’s comfort, safety, and value balance with updated equipment. If you’re focused on saving money, the 2016 is the smarter budget play; if you need extra seating, the 2018 is the one to consider.
