How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 9.22% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,800 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its great handling, comfortable ride, and fun driving experience, and many also value its performance and overall value. If you want a vehicle that stays true to the Wrangler formula while still offering everyday usability, this model year fits that use case well. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights the Wrangler as dependable in the ways that matter to buyers who want a vehicle with lasting appeal, especially when it comes to performance and overall ownership satisfaction. The same reviews also point to some condition-related concerns, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers depends heavily on how well a specific example was maintained and documented.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you visit in person. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, underbody components, and signs of off-road wear, since condition can vary widely from one Wrangler to another. Focus on the specific vehicle’s maintenance history and physical condition rather than assuming all examples are equally rugged.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,800 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,654, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,654 sits slightly below last year's $20,550.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, softer current pricing can mean less immediate upside, but it also creates a lower-cost ownership base if you plan to hold the vehicle for a while. Demand should remain supported by the Wrangler's strong owner satisfaction and distinctive appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.22% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,090, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,654 average.
• It offers iconic Wrangler character with lower ownership cost.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $20,824, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $18,654 average.
• It brings a thoroughly improved redesign with better performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2017 if you want a strong mix of owner satisfaction, inventory, and softer pricing. If your priority is spending less, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want the newer redesign and can pay more, the 2018 is the upgrade path.
