How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 9.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,718 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 4.58/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers repeatedly praise its fun driving experience, comfortable ride, and solid performance, while also noting good value for the money. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a rugged SUV with open-air appeal and everyday usability. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.58/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to dependable ownership experiences, with many reviewers describing the Wrangler as a vehicle they enjoy living with over time. That said, some buyers mention condition-related surprises, so a careful inspection matters even when the model has a loyal following. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Wrangler’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained and represented accurately.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage matches the seller’s description and photos. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repairs, and anything that suggests the vehicle has been used hard off-road. It also helps to focus on overall wear and completeness of equipment, since condition can vary widely from one listing to the next.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,718 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,074, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $19,074 sits slightly below last year's $20,970.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled enough to give you better entry pricing now, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well you buy and maintain the vehicle. If you choose a clean, well-kept example, you may be better positioned when it comes time to sell. Strong demand for this model’s character and capability can help support values, especially for listings that present well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.58/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.58/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,462, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,074 average.
• It blends open-air fun with rugged simplicity and year-round capability.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,345, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $19,074 average.
• It was thoroughly rebooted with improved performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and shopping flexibility, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2016 is the better secondary path because it delivers the Wrangler experience for less money. If you want to spend more for a newer-feeling version, the 2018 is the upgrade path to compare.
