How much does the 2017 Jeep Wrangler cost?

Prices have softened 9.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 7,785 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Jeep Wrangler earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its handling, comfortable ride, and fun driving experience, and many also value its performance and overall value. For you, that means it fits best if you want a rugged SUV with everyday usability rather than a conventional commuter. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights performance, value, and a driving experience that many buyers enjoy over time. The same reviews also point to condition-related concerns and missing modern conveniences, so reliability for you is as much about finding a well-kept example as it is about the model itself. Long-term ownership risk is lower when you verify maintenance and avoid listings with unresolved wear or damage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm that the listing’s condition matches the paperwork and photos. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you plan to use the Wrangler off-road or want to avoid hidden body or suspension issues. Focus on signs of prior damage, uneven wear, and any evidence that the vehicle has been used harder than advertised.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on strong listings.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 7,785 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,728, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,728 sits slightly below last year's $20,585.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a better entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. If you plan to sell later, condition will matter a lot, because buyers tend to pay more for clean, well-documented examples. A Wrangler that has been cared for and kept accident-free should hold broader appeal than one with visible wear or questionable history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,152, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $18,728 average.
• It offers classic Wrangler character with simple, go-anywhere appeal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $20,921, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $18,728 average.
• It brings a thoroughly updated design with improved performance, practicality, and technology.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best fit if you want a strong mix of owner satisfaction, broad inventory, and softer pricing. If your priority is saving money, the 2016 is the better value path; if you want a newer-feeling Wrangler, the 2018 is the upgrade to consider.
