How much does the 2017 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 1.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,736 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of cars to compare.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Honda Civic earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, great gas mileage, enjoyable features, impressive handling, and spacious interior. That makes it a strong fit if you want a compact car that works well for daily driving while still feeling practical and engaging. With 31.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights reliability, and the review summary also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers who value great gas mileage and everyday usability. The same feedback emphasizes that owners tend to count on it as a practical daily driver with strong long-term appeal. For used buyers, that means the biggest ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Honda Civic?

At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has any accident, title, or recall-related issues. Put inspection priority on condition, maintenance records, and signs of repair quality, especially if the car has higher mileage or visible wear. A careful pre-purchase inspection is worth it here because the best examples will stand out quickly from the rest.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,736 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,869, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,281 sits slightly below last year's $15,571.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means your future value will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and mileage. Well-kept examples should still attract steady interest because shoppers continue to value this model year’s mix of practicality and driving appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $13,846, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,281 average.
• It feels more polished and distinctive than earlier Civics.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around market balance, the 2017 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a large listing pool and softer pricing. If your main goal is to spend less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
