How much does the 2017 GMC Yukon XL cost?

Prices have softened 14.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 862 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL a good car?

Yes — the 2017 GMC Yukon XL earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Reviewers consistently praise the spacious interior, luxury features, and strong performance for family trips and towing. For you, that means it fits especially well if you want a full-size SUV with maximum passenger and cargo room plus a more premium feel. With 31.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a vehicle that owners feel good about living with over time, especially for family use and towing. The recurring praise for spaciousness, comfort, and strong performance suggests you can expect a dependable ownership experience if you choose a well-kept example.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained carefully and not worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large SUV that may have seen family hauling or towing duty. Focus your condition check on signs of wear in the suspension, brakes, interior, and cargo area, since those areas often reveal how hard the vehicle has been used.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon XL?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 862 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.10% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,062, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon XL's resale value?

The current average of $19,063 sits slightly below last year's $22,192.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim appeal than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because the Yukon XL’s size and utility remain core selling points.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon XL or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $16,970, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,063 average.
• It adds useful convenience and safety updates while keeping strong family-hauling capability.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and availability, the 2017 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
