The user feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with owners describing the Yukon as a vehicle they are very pleased with over time. The praise for strong performance and value suggests it can be a trouble-free choice for buyers who want a full-size SUV they can count on. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for well, since condition can vary widely at this age.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of body repair, uneven wear, or anything that suggests the vehicle has had a hard life. Focus on overall condition first, since the best used example will usually be the one with the cleanest history and the most consistent maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,587 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,721, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $21,838 sits slightly below last year's $23,846.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable level, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the best protection is choosing a clean, well-kept example that stands out from the average listing. Strong condition and a good ownership record matter more when the broader market has already moved down.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the Yukon’s roomy cabin, strong owner approval, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the cleanest history and best condition at the lowest total cost.
