How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 12.94% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,311 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.5/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The user feedback highlights spaciousness, power, comfort, a smooth ride, and useful features, all of which line up with the Tahoe’s family-hauling and towing-focused role. If you want a full-size SUV with three rows, plenty of cargo room, and a strong capability-first personality, this model year fits that use case well. With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a generally dependable experience, with many drivers describing the Tahoe as comfortable and trouble-free in everyday use. At the same time, some owners mentioned vibrations and mechanical issues in certain units, including remote start and seat malfunctions. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but you should pay close attention to maintenance history and how the vehicle has aged.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of vibration, electrical quirks, or interior equipment issues. Focus on overall condition and maintenance consistency, since those factors matter more when you’re shopping a large SUV that may have seen heavy family or towing use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep bargain-bin pricing.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,311 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,658, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $19,658 sits slightly below last year's $22,580.

That price movement suggests the Tahoe has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit how much value it loses from here. If you buy carefully and keep mileage and condition in check, you may be starting from a more stable price point than a year ago. Strong demand for a roomy, capable full-size SUV can also help support future resale interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,756, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $19,658 average.
• It leans more toward styling and presence than practical value.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2017 if you want the better value play, especially since pricing has softened and owner satisfaction is strong. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year feel and don’t mind paying a premium, the 2018 is the secondary path.
