How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 13.55% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,375 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 4.55/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the Tahoe’s spaciousness, power, comfort, smooth ride, and feature set, which fits well if you want a full-size SUV with three rows and room for family duty. The Tahoe’s size and capability also make it a practical choice if you need towing strength and cargo flexibility, though it can feel less convenient in tight urban driving. With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free experience for many shoppers, with praise centered on comfort, power, and overall usability. At the same time, some drivers reported vibrations and mechanical problems in certain units, including remote start and seat malfunctions. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but only if you verify the specific vehicle’s condition carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of vibration, electrical quirks, or interior equipment issues. You should also focus on overall condition and maintenance quality, since a large SUV like this can be expensive to sort out if prior damage or deferred upkeep is hiding underneath the surface.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,375 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.55% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,991, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $19,991 sits slightly below last year's $23,125.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of future depreciation. Demand should remain supported by the Tahoe’s broad appeal to shoppers who want a large, capable SUV with strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.55% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,379, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $19,991 average.
• It leans more toward style and presence than practical value.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2017 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for the next year’s appeal and don’t mind the premium, the 2018 is the secondary path for buyers who care more about image than savings.
