How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban cost?

Prices have softened 9.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,305 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban a good car?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is a strong fit if you want a big, traditional full-size SUV built around space, towing ability, and family utility, and its user rating is 3.75/5. The overview points to up to nine-passenger seating, available rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, and up to 8,300 pounds of towing when properly configured, so it makes the most sense if you need one vehicle to handle people, cargo, and hauling. It also adds useful family-focused tech such as automatic emergency braking, a rear-seat reminder system, and Teen Driver technology, while still offering a well-equipped cabin with available safety and infotainment features. With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban reliable?

The 2017 Chevrolet Suburban is presented as a practical, well-equipped large SUV that keeps its core strengths intact while adding family-focused technology and safety features. It remains a straightforward choice for shoppers who want a roomy, capable SUV with a strong reputation for hauling people and cargo. Its size, thirsty gas engines, and parking challenges are part of the ownership tradeoff, so long-term risk for used buyers is less about complexity and more about making sure the vehicle has been maintained well and fits your daily driving needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any candidate you’re serious about and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection before you commit. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle’s size, towing use, and family-hauling duties have left visible wear. Because this is a large SUV, it’s worth paying close attention to how well everything functions, from the cabin features to the drivability you’ll rely on every day.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Suburban?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,305 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,215, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban's resale value?

The current average of $19,215 sits slightly below last year's $21,129.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect later as a seller. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value. For future resale, the biggest advantage will come from clean history, solid maintenance, and a well-kept interior on a vehicle that already appeals to shoppers who need space and capability.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Suburban or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.06% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible pick if you want the generation’s space, towing ability, and family-friendly features without paying for a newer redesign. If you’re price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
