How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Impala cost?

There are 599 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Impala a good car?

Yes — the 4.82/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the spacious interior, comfortable ride, and stylish design, and many also like the generous trunk space and easy-to-use tech. That makes the Impala a strong fit if you want a roomy full-size sedan that’s easy to live with and still feels practical for everyday use. With 26.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Impala reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a car that many owners find dependable and trouble-free in day-to-day use, with comfort and usability standing out over the long haul. For used buyers, that means the main ownership risk is less about broad dissatisfaction and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and solid maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Impala?

At 48.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past repairs. It also makes sense to focus on interior wear, electronics, and overall maintenance records so you can judge whether the car has been cared for consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 599 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.49% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 48.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,925, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $11,940 sits slightly below last year's $12,769.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit short-term appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the softer pricing means condition and documentation matter even more, because well-kept examples will stand out more clearly against the broader market. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you protect value better than a car with visible wear or prior damage.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 48.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2017 is a smart choice if you want a roomy, comfortable full-size sedan and you find a clean example with a fair price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a similar car offers a better combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
