How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

There are 3,111 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and they also appreciate comfort features like heated seats and the overall dependability of the vehicle. For you, that makes it a practical choice if you want a comfortable compact crossover with a roomy cabin and useful everyday appeal. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights dependability, along with a smooth ride and comfortable daily use. That combination suggests the model has earned trust from people living with it over time, not just from short-term impressions. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of uneven wear. Because this model year is often bought for comfort and value, you want to make sure the specific vehicle you choose still delivers on both.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,111 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,892, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $9,892 sits slightly below last year's $10,593.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a lower cost today, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and mileage will matter even more because buyers will have plenty of comparable listings to choose from. Strong presentation and a clean history can help your vehicle stand out in a crowded market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,124, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $9,892 average.
• It shifts to a smaller, more direct compact-SUV design.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2017 is the stronger starting point. If you prefer a newer redesign and are willing to pay more, the 2018 is the alternative to compare. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2017 offers the more compelling mix of affordability and owner approval.
