Is the 2017 Buick Envision a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Buick Envision earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, smooth ride, and stylish design, and many also appreciate its luxurious features and overall reliability. In practical terms, that makes it a good fit if you want a comfort-first compact SUV with an upscale feel and everyday usability. Is the 2017 Buick Envision reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights reliability, with many drivers describing the Envision as dependable and trouble-free over time. That matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular commuting and long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been well maintained and not worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Buick Envision?

At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, alignment, tires, and interior wear so you can spot signs of past damage or heavy use. Because this model is valued for comfort and everyday usability, pay close attention to how well the cabin, ride quality, and key features have held up.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Buick Envision?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 336 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.37% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,934, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Buick Envision's resale value?

The current average of $12,934 sits slightly below last year's $14,115.

That price movement suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you keep the SUV clean, documented, and mechanically sound, you give yourself a better chance of standing out when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Buick Envision or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you should still compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
