What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Audi Q5?

At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on condition, especially signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs. Pay close attention to how the SUV presents overall, since a premium model like this can hide expensive issues if you only judge it by appearance.

Should I buy a 2017 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,441, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $12,206 average.
• It brings a full redesign with more room, newer technology, and improved refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the smarter starting point because it offers strong owner satisfaction and a lower average price. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer-generation experience, the 2018 is the better upgrade path.
