How much does the 2016 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices are up 1.59% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 2,609 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and comfortable ride, and they also call out its safety features as a major strength. For you, that makes it a practical compact SUV choice if you want a useful, well-rounded crossover with broad everyday appeal. With 34.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights reliability, and owners describe the RAV4 as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That kind of response suggests you can count on it for long-term ownership if you buy a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about how each individual vehicle was maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,609 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.59% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 51.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,395, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $16,105 sits slightly above last year's $15,853.

That upward movement suggests the market still sees steady value in this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. The combination of broad appeal, practical usefulness, and positive owner feedback gives future sellers a decent foundation when it comes time to list. If you keep mileage, condition, and maintenance history in good shape, you should be in a better position to protect value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.59% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,646, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $16,105 average.
• It offers practical everyday appeal with useful cargo space and broad utility.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the refreshed styling, updated safety content, and stronger market momentum. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value play, especially if you find a clean example with solid maintenance history.
