How much does the 2016 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,620 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Toyota RAV4 earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, and comfortable ride, and they also call out its safety features as a major strength. That fits well if you want a practical compact SUV that emphasizes everyday usefulness over flash. With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2016 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly highlights reliability, and it also describes the RAV4 as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. The same feedback points to fuel efficiency and comfort as part of the ownership experience, which supports the idea that this is a vehicle you can count on over time. For used buyers, that usually means lower worry about long-term ownership risk if the specific vehicle has been well maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of past repair work so you can judge whether the vehicle’s value matches its history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,620 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,393, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $16,053 sits slightly above last year's $15,986.

That small increase suggests the RAV4 has held its value fairly well in the near term. For a future seller, that kind of stability can be helpful because it points to steady buyer interest rather than sharp depreciation. The model’s practical reputation and broad appeal should continue to support demand if you keep the vehicle in good condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,612, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $16,053 average.
• It offers practical usefulness with strong fuel economy and generous cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price stability, deal availability, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core RAV4 strengths.
