Why it stands out
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid offers a unique combination of efficiency, capability, and comfort, making it a compelling choice in the compact SUV segment. Its hybrid powertrain, which integrates a 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with three electric motors, delivers not only excellent fuel economy but also a satisfying 194 net horsepower. This performance outpaces many of its non-hybrid competitors, providing drivers with a robust yet economical option for daily driving or family excursions.
The design enhancements for 2016, such as the new futuristic headlights and a slightly more rugged exterior aesthetic, lend the RAV4 Hybrid a more premium appearance while remaining very much a practical SUV. The interior space is cleverly utilized, offering a comfortable cabin with quality materials and an array of technological features, although it lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The safety features, including the Toyota Safety Sense suite, enhance its appeal as a secure family vehicle, ensuring that the RAV4 can be both a fun and responsible choice for buyers.

I was between this car and the 2020 Kia niro. I’ve only been driving the RAV4 hybrid for a few days but I’m so in love. It drives so smoothly and is incredibly quiet. The space inside is more comfortable than the niro with better acceleration and power in general. I’m currently averaging about 36MPG. It’s awesome.
