Used 2016 Subaru Legacy for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2016 Subaru Legacy cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 659 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Legacy options to compare.

Is the 2016 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It stands out as a midsize sedan with standard all-wheel drive, a practical safety focus, and a fairly well-equipped cabin. If you want everyday usability, traction, and comfort over flash, this model year fits that use case well. The market also shows 31.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Legacy’s appeal centers on standard all-wheel drive, useful safety tech, and a practical, comfort-first personality. Its drawbacks are also clear: dull styling, an interior that feels cheap, and sluggish performance. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about drama and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and still feels solid in daily use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Subaru Legacy?

At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, paint match, alignment, and any signs of uneven wear that could point to prior repairs. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a well-kept Legacy is more likely to deliver the practical ownership experience you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 659 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,362, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $11,907 sits slightly above last year's $11,838.

That small increase suggests the Legacy has held value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of price stability can be helpful because it points to a market that is predictable and easier to time. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you’re less likely to face a steep drop in value over a short ownership period.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,469, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $11,907 average.
• The 2015 emphasizes a roomier cabin and a more polished feel.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more budget-friendly path and still offers the Legacy’s practical strengths.
