Used 2016 Subaru Legacy for Sale nearKansas City, MO

How much does the 2016 Subaru Legacy cost?

Prices have softened 1.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 627 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Subaru Legacy a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Subaru Legacy earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview frames it as a midsize sedan built around standard all-wheel drive, useful safety tech, and everyday confidence in poor weather. It also makes sense for you if you want a practical sedan with comfort and year-round traction ahead of flash or performance. With 28.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Subaru Legacy reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes standard all-wheel drive, a refined sixth-generation design, and a strong safety focus, all of which support the case for dependable everyday use. It also highlights a practical feature set and a comfort-first mission, which can make ownership feel straightforward and low-stress.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the car’s mission and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Subaru Legacy?

At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or repair issues. Focus closely on overall condition, since accident history can affect both long-term ownership confidence and resale value. It also helps to compare service records and signs of consistent maintenance across the listings you’re considering.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru Legacy?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 627 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.87% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,362, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru Legacy's resale value?

The current average of $11,793 sits slightly below last year's $12,017.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that value retention looks steady rather than strong, so condition and documentation will matter a lot when it’s time to list the car. If you keep the car clean, well maintained, and accident-free, you’ll be in a better position to protect its value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Legacy or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $10,528, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $11,793 average.
• It offers a more polished, spacious feel.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in excellent condition with solid history and maintenance records.
