At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or repair quality issues. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Rogue?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2016 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $10,361 sits slightly below last year's $10,745.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can limit upside if you plan to resell soon. On the other hand, the Rogue’s broad appeal and practical layout help keep it relevant with shoppers who want a comfortable, value-oriented crossover. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be in a better position to preserve value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $9,482, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $10,361 average.
• It offers a more polished, mature design.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2015 is the more price-sensitive alternative and may be worth a closer look.
