Used 2016 Nissan Murano for Sale nearBuffalo, NY

How much does the 2016 Nissan Murano cost?

Prices have softened 5.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,155 listings available, which suggests you should have a workable selection to compare.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Nissan Murano earns a 4/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The Murano’s appeal is rooted in its bold styling and upscale cabin presentation, while the rest of the vehicle is described as more style-forward than modern in substance. That makes it a better fit if you value distinctive design and a comfortable, well-finished crossover over sharp driving dynamics or the latest tech.

31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Murano’s 3.5-liter V6 is described as refined, efficient, and deceptively strong, and the powertrain is also called dependable over time. The overall writeup also emphasizes that the model has consistently demonstrated outstanding reliability, even if the vehicle’s broader appeal leans more toward design than underlying quality.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that a stylish example can still hide wear or deferred maintenance, so condition and service history matter more than the badge appeal.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. It’s also smart to focus on how the cabin, infotainment, and driver-assistance features work in real use, since the Murano’s appeal depends heavily on equipment and presentation.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Murano is positioned as a style-forward crossover with an upscale cabin, but the base setup leaves out some of the more modern conveniences you may want, so compare equipment carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: Every 2016 Murano uses a 260-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 with a continuously variable transmission, and the engine is described as refined, efficient, and dependable.
• Safety package: The Murano can be optioned with a Predictive Forward Collision Warning system, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, and blind-spot monitoring, but it does not include lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, or pedestrian-detection capability.
• Infotainment: The system offers a responsive touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming audio, voice recognition, and a hands-free text-messaging assistant, and the larger 8-inch screen comes with navigation; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not included.
• Fuel efficiency: The powertrain is described as efficient, and one real-world test logged 21.1 mpg in combined driving.

Which 2016 Nissan Murano trim should I buy?

The 2016 Nissan Murano is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but you’ll want to check the equipment list closely because the Murano’s appeal depends heavily on comfort and convenience features, and the base trim is the most likely to feel sparse.
• SV: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value, since it should give you a more satisfying ownership experience without pushing you into the highest-priced versions.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and more of the Murano’s comfort-and-tech personality without going all the way to the top trim.
• Platinum: This is the one to buy if you want the most premium version of the Murano, with the richest feature set and the strongest emphasis on style and comfort.

The safety package includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, and optional blind-spot monitoring, but lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and pedestrian detection are not part of the setup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Nissan Murano?

This is a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,155 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,611, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $11,611 sits slightly below last year's $12,347.

That softer pricing suggests the Murano has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price. Because the market is still showing meaningful inventory and a decent share of deal-priced listings, resale performance will likely depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Nissan Murano safe?

The 2016 Nissan Murano earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The Murano’s safety tech includes Predictive Forward Collision Warning, automatic emergency braking, Driver Attention Alert, and optional blind-spot monitoring. It does not include lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, or pedestrian-detection capability, so you should not assume it has every modern driver-assistance feature.

Should I buy a 2016 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2016 model emphasizes bold styling and an upscale cabin, but it also feels more style-first than modern in substance.

The bottom line: The 2016 Murano makes sense if you want a distinctive crossover with strong visual appeal, a comfortable cabin, and a softer used price. If you’re shopping primarily on value and want the best chance of finding a clean, well-equipped example, this year is worth considering; if you want the newest-feeling tech and a more modern overall package, a nearby year may be the better path.

How does the 2016 Nissan Murano compare to the 2016 Honda Pilot?

Our experts score the 2016 Nissan Murano 6.8/10 and the 2016 Honda Pilot 7.3/10. The Murano is the more style-driven choice, while the Pilot comes across as the stronger all-around family SUV. You get a lower average used price with the Murano, but the Pilot brings more horsepower and a broader market presence. If you care most about distinctive design and a softer buy-in, the Murano has the edge; if you want the stronger overall package, the Pilot is the safer bet.
