How much does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 1,044 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its classic styling, reliability, and comfortable drive, and many also highlight the performance of the 6-cylinder engine and the fun experience behind the wheel. That lines up well with the E-Class’s upscale, high-tech cabin and broad appeal as a used luxury sedan that still feels modern. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find one that fits your budget.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable and appreciate its generally dependable, trouble-free character, especially over longer ownership periods. The feedback also suggests that many buyers feel confident counting on it as a comfortable daily driver. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid examples with unresolved condition issues or deferred maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you get too far along. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to brakes, infotainment behavior, and overall interior and exterior condition. Because this is a luxury sedan, small signs of neglect can matter more than they would on a simpler car, so focus on how well the car has been maintained and repaired.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,044 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,998, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $15,488 sits slightly below last year's $15,571.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which can help future sellers because it reduces the risk of a sharp value drop. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’re more likely to preserve value than if you overpay for a rough example. The model’s steady pricing also suggests that demand remains consistent among used luxury sedan shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the newer-feeling cabin, modern tech, and a well-liked ownership experience in a used luxury sedan. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby older year may be worth considering, but you should expect to trade off some of the 2016’s updated feel and market stability.
