How much does the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class cost?

Prices have softened 3.58% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,015 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of options to compare.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its classic styling, reliability, and comfortable drive, and many also highlight the performance of the 6-cylinder engine and the fun experience behind the wheel. In practical terms, that makes it a strong fit if you want a used luxury sedan that feels polished, comfortable, and still engaging to drive. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability as one of the model’s strengths, with many drivers describing it as dependable and trouble-free over time. That said, you should still expect the usual used-luxury-car ownership risks, especially if maintenance history is incomplete or the car has unresolved electronic or brake-related issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that knows luxury sedans. Pay close attention to bodywork consistency, brake behavior, infotainment operation, and signs that the car has been repaired after a collision. Condition matters a lot here, so a clean service record and a well-documented inspection can help you avoid expensive surprises.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,015 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,887, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $14,887 sits slightly below last year's $15,439.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit near-term downside if you buy carefully. For a future seller, the key will be condition, mileage, and documentation, since well-kept examples should hold up better than cars with patchy history or visible wear. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and luxury appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.58% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2016 if you want a used E-Class with strong owner satisfaction, a lower average price, and enough inventory to shop selectively. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains a compelling choice when you find a clean, well-documented example at the right price.
