Why it stands out
The 2016 Lexus LS stands out as a large luxury sedan that had already built a long reputation for refinement, quietness, and durability by the time this model year arrived. It was part of the fourth generation, which brought a bigger body, a more upscale feel, and a focus on comfort that included a massive rear seat in the long-wheelbase version. Lexus also offered a range of powertrains in this generation, and the LS 460’s 4.6-liter V8 paired with an eight-speed automatic gave the car strong performance while still returning respectable fuel economy for the class.
By 2016, the LS had also accumulated a number of features that made it feel well equipped. The cabin included a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 23-speaker Mark Levinson stereo, and available luxury touches such as the Executive Class Seating Package and the Remote Touch Interface with Enter and Back buttons. The model year also benefited from updates to the infotainment system and remote service app, which helped keep the car current even as its basic layout remained conservative. That said, the technology was not perfect: the touchpad-style interface was still less intuitive than a touchscreen, and the LS’s overall design was already showing its age compared with newer rivals.

A “Dream Car”. Rides like a noiseless airplane. When cruising down the highway with music turned on you forget that you are actually driving. A really spectacular car . Has all the bells and whistles! Everything is automatic! Real luxury. This car replaced my 2002 Infinite Q 45.

This is by far the last great sedan, no more as of 2018 redesign that reduced riding height while boasting its new streamline body, together with very sophisticated technology (too complicated for most drivers) The LS 400 and the LS 460 were both very fine high quality enjoyable luxurious vehicles I have owned and very much appreciated.

Is the 2016 Lexus LS a good car?
Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to a very strong ownership experience, and the 2016 Lexus LS fits buyers who want a large luxury sedan centered on refinement, quietness, and comfort. Its long-wheelbase version adds a massive rear seat, while the LS 460’s V8 and eight-speed automatic give you strong performance with respectable fuel economy for the class. The cabin also brings a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a 23-speaker Mark Levinson stereo, though the interface is more conservative than cutting-edge. With 34.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2016 Lexus LS reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2016 Lexus LS is described as a car that had already built a long reputation for durability by this model year, and its appeal is rooted in that established Lexus formula of refinement and quietness. It also benefits from a mature fourth-generation design that had already been updated over time, which can be reassuring if you want a luxury sedan that feels well sorted rather than experimental. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the car’s basic character and more about making sure the specific example has been maintained properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus LS?
At 53.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important. You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can confirm the car’s structural and cosmetic condition. Focus on overall condition, because a luxury sedan like this is best bought when the cabin, electronics, and bodywork all reflect careful ownership.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus LS?

- Inventory: There are 146 listings available.
- Clean inventory: 53.4% of listings are accident-free.
Should I buy a 2016 Lexus LS or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 53.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2016 Lexus LS makes the most sense if you want a mature, comfort-first luxury sedan with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is finding the best value, you should compare condition and history carefully across listings, since the cleanest examples are likely to be the smartest buy even if they cost a bit more.
