How much does the 2016 Lexus IS cost?

Prices have softened 1.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2016 Lexus IS a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the performance, comfort, and stylish design, and many also highlight the luxury feel and reliability. That lines up well if you want a compact luxury sedan that leans into driving enjoyment while still delivering a premium experience. With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers repeatedly describe it as reliable, and many say they trust it for the long haul. The feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, especially for buyers who value a car that feels solid and trouble-free over time. For used buyers, that suggests lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a sporty luxury sedan, though condition still matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus IS?

At 39% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Focus on overall condition, including signs of uneven wear, repair quality, and whether the car still feels tight and composed on the road.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus IS?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 670 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.13% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 39.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,631, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $18,340 sits slightly below last year's $18,551.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a standout example. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more than ever because buyers will likely compare your car against a fairly broad pool of listings. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help your car stand out when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 39% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $17,544, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $18,340 average.
• It emphasizes driving enjoyment with strong quality and refinement.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market position, the 2016 is the better primary target because it combines solid owner satisfaction with a decent share of good deals. If your budget is tighter, the 2015 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the 2016 on price while still appealing to shoppers who value the IS's sporty character.
