Used 2016 Lexus GX for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2016 Lexus GX cost?

Prices have softened 4.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 443 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Lexus GX a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Lexus GX earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its luxurious features, spacious interior, reliability, all-wheel-drive capability, and off-road readiness. That lines up well with its use case as a luxury SUV for you if you want genuine trail ability and a more upscale cabin than many rugged competitors, even if cargo space and the infotainment setup are weaker points. With 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Lexus GX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, overall dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many owners also pointing to its long-term durability and confidence-inspiring all-wheel-drive capability. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger risk is less about the model’s basic durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t accumulated avoidable wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Lexus GX?

At 54% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of bodywork, uneven wear, or neglected maintenance. Because this model is valued for durability and off-road capability, you should focus on overall condition and evidence of careful ownership rather than just the odometer reading.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus GX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 443 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,652, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Lexus GX's resale value?

The current average of $23,819 sits slightly below last year's $24,893.

That softer pricing trend suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it can also mean sellers need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. The GX’s reputation for reliability and its loyal buyer base help support demand, especially for clean, well-kept examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus GX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Lexus GX makes the most sense if you want a luxury SUV with real off-road ability, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
