Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. In owner feedback, the model is described as dependable enough to be appealing for various driving conditions, with comments that support a trouble-free, long-term ownership experience. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce the risk of unpleasant surprises, though you should still verify maintenance and condition before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport?

At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you make an offer, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection if the listing has any accident history. Focus on body condition, repair quality, and signs of uneven wear so you can separate a clean, well-kept SUV from one that has been repaired poorly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport?

This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,024 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,922, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport's resale value?

The current average of $9,927 sits slightly below last year's $11,166.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation matter even more because buyers will compare your SUV against plenty of similarly priced alternatives. Strong maintenance records and a clean history can help you stand out when it is time to list.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $11,028, the 2017 costs more than the current year's $9,927 average.
• It adds a more polished, well-rounded package with a roomier cargo area and broader appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better value play. If you can stretch your budget for a newer, more polished feel, the 2017 is the better upgrade path; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2016.
