How much does the 2016 Honda Accord cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

With 2,374 listings available, you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord a good car?

Generally — the 2016 Honda Accord earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10. Drivers consistently praise its comfort, reliability, impressive gas mileage, safety features, and interior quality. For you, that means a midsize family sedan that fits everyday commuting, family duty, and value-focused shopping especially well. Even so, the market still shows 30.3% good or great deals, so there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. Drivers repeatedly describe the Accord as reliable, and the broader feedback also points to dependable, trouble-free ownership for many buyers. The expert evaluation adds that the car is a good hedge against unanticipated expenses, with favorable reliability ratings and low insurance costs helping its ownership case. Honda also notes that the Accord is affordable to own, though the same review warns that small flaws can add up over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not a single major weakness so much as the possibility of accumulating minor annoyances and condition-related issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Honda Accord?

At 43.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or multiple owners. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior repair quality, and whether the car’s equipment matches the trim you want. Because some listings may have incident history, it pays to be selective and compare examples carefully.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the entry point, while the EX, EX-L, Sport, and Touring add more equipment and a more upscale feel; the base car lacks the touchscreen infotainment system found on higher trims.
• Powertrain: Most versions use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 185 hp, while the Sport gets 189 hp and the EX-L and Touring can be had with a 3.5-liter V6 that delivers stronger passing power.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control; it is standard on Touring and available on every version except that it cannot be paired with the manual transmission.
• Infotainment: Higher trims get a 7-inch touchscreen with HondaLink, Siri Eyes Free, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto; lower trims rely on a simpler setup.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4-cylinder is described as refined and efficient, and the V6 is noted as thirstier in city, suburban, and traffic-heavy driving, though it can return better than 34 mpg on the open road.

Which 2016 Honda Accord trim should I buy?

The 2016 Honda Accord is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the least expensive way into the Accord, but you give up the touchscreen infotainment system and some of the richer convenience and tech features found higher up the range.
• Sport: This trim adds a more athletic feel and is a good fit if you want a little more character without jumping to the pricier versions.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the touchscreen infotainment system, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and more of the Accord’s modern tech.
• EX-L: This trim suits you if you want a more upscale cabin and the option to step up to the V6 for stronger performance.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped Accord, with the most bells and whistles and standard Honda Sensing; it makes the most sense if you want the most features and are willing to pay for them.

Honda Sensing is standard on the Touring, and it cannot be combined with the manual transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Accord?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop with patience and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,374 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 43.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,133, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $14,379 sits slightly below last year's $14,511.

That small decline suggests the Accord is holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For you as a future seller, that usually points to a predictable resale path instead of a volatile one. The model’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help keep demand healthy when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2016 Honda Accord safe?

The Honda Accord earns top marks in every NHTSA and IIHS assessment except for four-star ratings for frontal-impact protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is the named driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, road-departure prevention, and adaptive cruise control. It is standard on the Touring and available on every version of the Accord, though you cannot pair it with the manual transmission. The Accord also comes with a standard reversing camera with three viewpoints, including a 180-degree view. One caveat is that rear cross-traffic alert and a traditional blind-spot warning system are not included, and LaneWatch only monitors the right side.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 43.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s 2016 updates improve the Accord while preserving its strong everyday usefulness and broad competence.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $13,246, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $14,379 average.
• It is especially well-engineered and known for dependable service that can last for many years.

The bottom line: If you want the newer car with a stable price trend and strong owner satisfaction, the 2016 is the better default choice. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2015 is the smarter value play.

How does the 2016 Honda Accord compare to the 2016 Toyota Camry?

Our experts score the 2016 Honda Accord 6.8/10 and the 2016 Toyota Camry 7.2/10.

The Accord brings stronger performance and better fuel economy in the specs shown here, while the Camry edges it on expert score and lower average used price. The Accord also has more listings available, which gives you more shopping flexibility. If you want the more engaging and efficient choice, the Accord has the edge; if you want the slightly better expert-rated bargain, the Camry is worth a look.
