Is the 2016 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback highlights a vehicle that many people find dependable, comfortable, and enjoyable over time, with praise centered on its spacious cabin and strong performance. Some shoppers should still pay close attention to wear items and overall condition, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how well a used example has been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, suspension, or mechanical issues. Focus closely on tire condition, signs of prior repairs, and how well the cabin and electronics have held up, since those details can tell you a lot about how the SUV was treated.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Yukon?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,420 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,339, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $19,339 sits slightly below last year's $21,169.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the Yukon more attractive to used buyers today but may also limit upside for a future seller if prices stay soft. If you buy at the right number and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your position when it comes time to resell. Demand should remain supported by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal as a family-friendly full-size SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the updated features and broad appeal of this generation at a softened price point. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
