Used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 8.91% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 673 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, luxurious features, smooth ride, and strong towing and hauling performance. That makes it a good fit if you want a heavy-duty pickup that can handle work duties while still feeling more upscale than many rivals. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes reliability, dependable performance, and a truck that many drivers feel confident counting on for towing, hauling, and everyday use. That said, used heavy-duty trucks can accumulate wear in ways that matter over time, so your long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how well the specific truck was maintained and used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on the transmission, electrical systems, infotainment behavior, panel fit, paint condition, and rust, since those are the kinds of issues that can matter most on a used heavy-duty truck. If possible, focus on trucks with clean maintenance records and a condition report that matches the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 673 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.91% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,550, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $31,550 sits slightly below last year's $34,636.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the softer pricing means you should pay close attention to condition, mileage, and equipment because those factors will matter more when trying to stand out. Trucks with cleaner histories and stronger presentation should hold buyer interest better than rougher examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with high owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal potential. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as the better pick when you want a balance of value, features, and owner approval.
